It could be, I'm not to sure. I do know the guy imports his blanks and it looks like a lamiglass. It's the perfect rod for casting in thick brush, but it also can shoot out some line. I was having know problem throwing out 40 feet of line with this small fly rod. Not to mention the bend in this rod is unbelievable!
