gill getters don!!
THESE ARE CLOSE DON , BUT MAY HAVE BEEN ANOTHER TYER ON HERE .....
as always Don great pattern and video your becoming a pro behind the camera ")
Good Video Don thanks for sharing.
Heres the link to the step x step for tying these..............
Beads are not very heavy, these can be tied with no bead or just a little lead wire wrapped around the hook for desired sink rate. Glass beads can be used for a slower sink rate too. This simple fly is very effective especially along weed beds just out from the bank. I also like to fish them in the river for Green Sunfish. The tails are ultra chenille and the bands are made with a Sharpie. I like to tie these in several different colors, but most of the time the "Gills" don't seem to care very much, any color seems to work. MY favorites are chartreuse, white, black and olive...........Don in SC
Very interesting designs. The tail looks like raccoons in the the water. Heavy beads, so, semi-quick sink rate? about 2" to 3" per second?
Yep, tail is ultra chenille banded with a sharpie.........
very nice don as always.looks like one of those time tested patterns .simple but unique the way all the great flies are
nice bug don
