I have lost several of these to big LMB but I have caught nice yellow bass and crappie on them too.

I use two basic baits with this modification.. the Yo Zuri Pin Minnow and the SK Bitsy Minnow… it does dull the action just a bit … but im reading from the guys at In-Fisherman that’s what the the Panfish might generally want.

"The action is minimal—which is good. Wild side-to-side behavior isn’t always a plus when targeting panfish. Work them with a slow twitch-pause cadence."

I went thru three Bitsy minnows last year due to pike bite-offs and haven't replenished the stock as of yet.

Fishing with family on my boat I would out-fish up to 4 to 1 against Earl using a plain Yo Zuri Pin and my modified version. I use it now as my scouting rig when locating schools shallow.

I find them more suited for spring fishing the shallow pattern without the extended weed growth or blooms.

Yep I found out one floated and the rest sank… putting the chain added just enough weight for it to slightly suspend. I would just pause it and twitch and fish would angrily hit. Well over 90% of the fish were tagged on the rear hook.

Hey Slip does the dropper change the action much? I find that even a small amount of grass or slime almost deadens the side to side action. They have a pretty tight wiggle anyway. The first ones I bought were floater divers but the recent ones have a been suspended. The package never indicated a difference.

Really like these baits…. Firetiger was my favorite producer then I bought baby bass and this seemed to be the better a pattern in my lakes. This is one of the mini cranks that I add a chain dropper to the rear tipped with a pink Gulp Waxie.

Thanks guys........I've always enjoyed catching a few gills using this technique..........I like the way these baits will suspend when twitched...........very productive for me........

Those are some of my go to cranks, the solid white one has been producing early this year.  They will catch smaller fish like this one from today.
