Thanks Carl Tooty needs to be messed with! And I didn't mean to come off as bitter David, you are totally correct about the vertical hold being bad and I was just reassuring you that it was for no more than 10 seconds. But again it's bad! Bad! Bad! Bad! And I need to stop! You guys are the best though

I also noticed the clear water, Dick.
I was only half joking, Jacob. From a boat, it isn't the easiest thing to cradle.
It is recommended, of course, but handling them gently and quickly as you have is
also good. its really about stewardship.
I'm sorry if I came off as sounding "preachy." But with it being brought up by Leo,
it was too good a chance to poke a little fun. Thanks and congrats on some great catching.

Thanks David! I can assure you I held this fish out of the water vertically for no more than 5 seconds. As you can see it has water dripping from it's tail. I grabbed the fish, my dad had the camera ready, I stood up, (snap!, snap! again on the close up). I leaned back over the side, took the hook out. Easy as 1 2 3. You're right though I should cradle it with my off hand if I have it out for any period of time at all! I must say though, I've caught fish that have multiple holes and cuts from being caught before, while yes many fish are mishandled and suffer because of it, most heal up and live life to the fullest.

Those are some fantastic catches, Jacob!
I have to say, I've never seen a small mouth bass. I've fished in locales where they swim, but I've never caught one. I love to see them.
Tooty was right; you are a champ.

Now, take it easy on that Jaw Bone Ripper Grip! :-)
