The Afternoon Started With Several Dozen Fliers.....6/8/2021

I expected the Fliers to be active as hypoxia doesn't impact them as much as other sunfish......all Fliers took the Freak

They're very abundant in coastal marshes Bruce......we have a great population of quality fish.......:"Flier" is actually the species name....slang sunfish names are common but  the Flier is one of the rarest of the Sunfish....The area below is the predicted range in North America.....Even though the entire state of North Carolina is highlighted they are much more abundant in the coastal waters.....they can survive long periods of hypoxia when all other sunfish species would start to perish...

I guess Fliers is a regional name?
