I did have a couple that favored Northern strain including this fish......most still had the flashy forehead despite trending towards the grapefruit colors of the winter season.....

Almost the exact same gig for us today as well, Jeffrey. 8 to 9.5 inchers at a new pond and a dozen small bass mixed in.
Is this fish posibly a northern strain? Looks like a northern hen.
