It's not quite Throwback Thursday but I received my copies of Jim's new book today and it reminded me of this special weekend back in 2013..........I will always remember this fish ..............I've got many folks on trophy fliers over the years but for an accomplished angler like Jim to catch a Citation Class Flier was definitely a highlight.........Haven't got deep in the book yet but from what I've read so far it's awesome........
Jim's trophy Flier from late last October 2013 on the Little River in coastal North Carolina.......the citation comes with a beautiful certificate and Jim insisted on releasing this fish for another day.........one of the vast sunfish species available in the Albemarle region........
No problem Jim....part of the fishing lure is the memories.......
Thanks for memory lane, Jeffrey!
This is still one of my all-time favorite panfish accomplishments...beautiful fish and beautiful settings! Thanks again Jeffrey for a great trip(s) under really tough conditions!
that's a big one any where;; congrats to you again Jim!!
I remember that picture from last year he's got that smile like a kid lost in the candy store. Still on my bucket list.
One year ago today I got to take Jim Gronaw out fishing and he caught this North Carolina Citation Flier......Jim has since received his beautiful certificate for his catch......This fish was safely released for another battle......No surprise, I caught some nice Fliers today in the same region with surface temps at 60 degrees......Congrats again Jim...........
I was also very happy that Jim got this trophy Flier this past weekend.....we had a tough bite all three days so it was a pleasure to see this one......All that being said I'm equally happy to report that this fish was successfully released to hopefully make another angler very happy! Congrats again Jim!
I have caught a few fliers in St Marys Lake in southern Marylands Western Shore and a couple in Richmond Mill...but this one was a special catch for me.
