Yep, Jim's nailed it. This time of year I downsize even further than normal, and I look for coves, or bays that get a lot of sunlight., adjacent to deeper water. Weedbeds are usually a plus. Might even pay to check the afternoon bite.
We down-sized to a 1/64th oz shad dart jighead with worm pieces this week and smacked em silly. Fished em 5 ft below a bobber...small, sensitive bobber, and let the wind just drift thru some shallow corners of the pond that had been warmed just a bit by sunlight...fish were there!
you right now are my inspiration buddie!... going to fish that little 7 acre pond on state land i found on google maps tomorrow.. hoping to get just a bite... nice fishing Jeff!
Glad to hear it Jeffrey and let me know on the colors buddy !!!!!!! Ya I already know Cotton Candy #1 , no problemo and got 72 yard skein of that chenille so we are ok there .........
Larger hooks will be a great addition....today was a bad today to test anything.....hard bite to follow.......caught several nice largemouth on them also...solid hook set........
GREAT SHOT SIR JEFFREY !!!!!!!! did the larger hooks work ok for ya ?.......
Absolutely Tony......I was looking in that part of my box this afternoon.......
Sounds like it's time to downsize on the jigs.
It should Jim....LOL.....we had to endure similar conditions today with an eight degree drop in water temps overnight.......getting tougher as the rivers near turnover......
Wow they even like the jumbo. I know it has to be a crappie killer for sure.
