Do you love big bluegill?
I slip bobber fish almost 95% of the time. I've had this rig for 7 or 8 years. A BPS 6' IM8 light action rod, with a Mitchell 308X reel. I use 4lb. Trilene most of the time. I've caught a lot of Bluegill with it.

Ken, what kind of braid and weight are you using for bluegill? I may have to give it a try.
Yep Dick your right. I fish in timber a lot of the time so I normally cut off the last 6' before I go and re-tie. Looks like it's time to re-spool:)
Mike you might want to add some more line to the reel it looks like it could be a little shy there buddy. I also have a couple Mitchell's oldies but goodies.
When spin fishing, that sort of thing is my go-to.
For serious casting of really light baits, I go to a 7' spin-fly rod. But for most other bluegill spinning chores, that sort of thing gets the nod.
SIMPLE LOOKING RIG MIKE !!!!!! IF it produces it's as good as it gets !!!!!!!!! HOw you like the Mitchell reel anyway?
Very cool set up. I need to try this - would really work over the "tire reefs @ Lake Perris.
Simplicity at its finest. No one dares to argue with you on a layout like this. I wish I can say the same for my rigs.
