Now that is just crazy looking fish, if I ever get up north to do some fishing, I want someone to take me where I can catch one of them.

That fish looks like it's a cousin to the snakeheads.

Well that is the first one I have seen, if you catch more or have more pics I would like to see them.

Thanks for the info.

Patrick, this looks like a scene from the movie "Fargo".....is there a wood chipper down near the shore?.....lol

Zach, buddy that there is an eel pout or otherwise know as a lawyer, burbot or lota lota! They are a member of the cod family and are the ONLY cod that is freshwater found. Like Tim and 2lb have stated, they are amazing fighters! We eat them up here as well! We only take the backstraps and boil them in Sprite or water and then dip them in a melted butter/garlic! Poor man lobster! There is a small group of us here that target them as a spieces. I am the rookie of the group!

Tim, would you like one for a mold? :)

Ya, they do put up a tussle, like reeling in boot that just keeps kicking.

Eelpout are hard to grab because they're so slimmy.

Notice how the tail is wrapping around Pats hand. That's what they do when you hold them. You don't want to get them anywhere near your neck.
