these little cranks would hardly last a day on my waters with all the toothy critters swimming around

Ah yes..the fun of cranks. Only have 4 of your arsenal. Landed more carps and bucket mouths than gills.

Keith,

I really appreciate your posting these. It sums up much of the discussion we’ve had around micro cranks.

My MOST productive micro hardbait, the Rebel “Tadfry,” is now defunct, I’ve learned, and the loss has left me bereft. I have retired my only sample and have started looking for a replacement.* There are more than a few under two inches, but only a few in the 1” size range of the Tadfry.

* - Rebel says there will be no re-introduction of the Tadfry - they have no plans to re-introduce the series, and have asked me please stop begging…

While searching, I ran across a very good article at In-Fisherman on this very topic, i.e., tiny crankbait specialization for panfish. The article goes very far into the matter, breaking down the idea into search, exposure and capture modes. Both strategy and tactics are included along with a VERY extensive list of hard baits suited to each of these sub-strategies. I thought the gang here might find it at least interesting.

I see the Strike King mini crank 3 is 3/16th oz. ,can't find the weights on the others .

I have some of those strike kings you have Keith!  working on getting a few more to!

The ones in the center are Strike King Bitsy Minnows except the bottom one is the Arkie.
I don't know the weights off hand.

Those Rebel 7700 series Crawfish cranks are classic!  I need to replace the ones I lost this year.  Strike King Wee R's have a place in my tackleboxes as well.

Is the minnowbait that's bottom-center an Arkie?  I've got one, I think.  Rebel used to make a minnow crank that small; can't find them anymore.  They were killer on smaller fish.

Wee R's are killers what are the weights on these ? I'm guessing 1/8th and 16th.Perhaps lighter .
