Thanks guys........couldn't agree more Slip........April is peak for our shallow crappie bite........got big plans for the month......hope to fish 12 to 15 times this month.............looking for a shot at one of those big sows..........I have scheduled trips to eight different locations and that's very exciting too...........
… gotta love the B.Crappie springtime bite!
Awesome pair of crappie.
Thanks Carl......Mike.......Jim and John. 95% of the time John tidal crappie in my region are attached to shallow wood, whether that be man made docks/bulkheads or thousands of downed trees. For example, I have dozens of trees marked on the river I fished last night and only got to the third one last night when I reached my 20 crappie limit and began to cull a little bit before sunset.......Since peak spawning is a relatively short period, this strategy works out well and traditionally will produce fish. Some of these trees were discovered during low water conditions and may sit normally with up to two feet of water on them.........flooded cypress is the key to quality crappie and big numbers on the Albemarle........
