Dwayne I loaded a couple more photos showing the Spider Rig....I never fish for Bluegill with this technique but I've had some fun trips for Crappie and White Perch...It helps to hold the schooling White Perch when you locate them on big water........

Jeff, if you could please explain spider leg pattern. I have never heard of this.

Last season I got 5 nice ones and learned that nowadays all of them are made in China.

Mine were Apache brand, but the exact smae one with different names were being sold on other websites. Mine were a wholesale lot off ebay and I paid $7/each. When I compared them to the Shakespeare models I got at WalMart, they were better!

The Fish Hunters have a foam handle Tomas......I had never seen them but they were in a discount bin at a little South Carolina Mom & Pop Bait shop and I snagged some.....I have purchased all different types and prefer a 12' for probing the tree tops...I absolutely love to fish with them when the fish are on the bed.....great fun!!!

we call them hand poles down here. lol. and i am hand poloe fan! i must have a dozen or more. a little jewl is my favorite, i think b&m makes it but not 100% on that. but ive never even heard of a camo one, thats awesome jeffrey! i gotta have one. do they have a foam or wrapped handle? gotta love the super quiet and simple aproach with these poles.

Man, I got me a mess of 'em, too. I have 10, 12, 13 and 15 footers. I'm like Jeff; I like them the best of all the methods. They aren't always right for all occasions, but they can be relied upon nearly 100% of the time. I always tote at least one along with me.

@ Cal, they are like cane poles - that is how they are used. But unlike the classic bamboo cane pole, these are made of fiberglass sections that retract from the tip into the handle. My 15' poles retract to only 30" for stowage. You can hang a reel on them if you like, and some people do. I've also seen eyes that clip onto the pole. But the simplicity of them is what they are all about.

I use them as cane poles, sometimes solo and sometimes several in a "Spider Leg" pattern.....Hard to break away from the method I was introduced to Gill fishing by my Grandfather......It's fun to anchor on a bed of gills and break out the Telescopic.....I stow about 10 at a time of different lengths on my boat so that's another cool thing about them! The camo pattern is cool, I bought these just because of the pattern, I certainly didn't need anymore...LOL
