What a neat picture, Jeffrey. Most all out bridges here have tie off ropes hanging from them. The night time Crappie boys use them. They hang lights off their boats in the summer, and catch a lot of Crappies that way.

A great natural setting for Bluegill if you ever make it down to southwestern Louisiana....Interstate 10 flying over the Atchafalaya River Basin....

Great pic. My family crossed those bridges several times a year as we traveled to Houston from S.C. I recall stopping along the way, in the communities alongside those bridges, for hot boudain sausage. In this region, the locals would fry this regional food into large, meatball-like treats. Man, I couldn't wait to pass through there on those trips.

Lots of people enjoyed this photo earlier this year. Just thought I would allow it to surface again for those who might have missed it. Cool shot!

I crossed over those bridges many years ago an a family vacation. Desperately wanted to find any place to stop and fish where there was any dry land, but as the only fisherman in my family and a teenager at the time, I didn't get much of a vote :p

This pair of bridges are seventeen miles long between Lafayette and Baton Rouge in Southwestern Louisiana. When the snow melts up north this location collects most of it via spillways on the "Mighty"  Mississippi River. Notice the water mark is almost 10 feet up on these pilings and the reflection makes it almost impossible to see the actual water line. If you have checked out the "Swamp People" program , several of those areas are connected to this body of water. Glad everybody has enjoyed it.
