Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Bead Head "Crappie Fly", basically the same as the jigs I tie, but on a size 8 dry fly hook with a bead. Basically a Wooly Bugger, minus the hackle and ribbing.

LOOKS YUMMY for all kinds of fish

Leo, I've got the exact same thing on a few 1/80th and 1/32nd jigheads.  Both sizes have caught at least a dozen fish each, and still show no sign of wear and tear.

Excellent fly. Give us a run down on how many battles the fly can handle before it requires an overhaul. Looks like a killer in any water.

Pink is a killer on my local lake.  The local bait shop stocks those "Ruby Red" minnows, and anyone fishing artificial jigs for Crappie usually includes pink and white as part of their arsenal.

Now, if I could find a peach-colored chenille to closely match the color of those minnows.......

Sorry, I'm using a white cutting board under fluorescent lighting, so not everything comes though.  That's red Krystal Flash with sparse white marabou.
