Yes I have kept 20-22" sized Pickerel in the past for eating Bruce I like them from Cold water .

Nice pickerel, John. Have you ever tried to eat them? I haven't yet, but I saw a a few videos on YouTube explaining how to easily fillet them. They say they are good eating. If I get one through the ice this year I'm going to try it.
