Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is the latest I've ever been able to ice fish here...may try tomorrow, just to extend season into March.

No skill needed today. Only needed two holes, and one jig, once I found em, bite lasted about 30 mins.

I ate about that many bluegills tonight. I know you'll enjoy these.

Although booming, cracking ice is un-nerving, I've been told that it is cracking due to expansion, actually 'making ice' due to cold temperatures. It's the quiet ice that they say is actually melting.

Five inches? We have more ice hear than I can remember since 1980's...14 inches on Mason Dixon ponds and lakes and as much as 24 inches in some sections of Deep Creek Lake...all this, on a year when I can't ice fish! Was down to 7 this morning.

Ice is 5", and man was it ever talking....booming, cracking and thundering. BIG noises too...the kind that make the water jump out of the hole, and cause the angler to mutter under his breath. You could really feel that ice heave.

Still want to try tomorrow if possible...more snow coming in tonight, so we'll see.

Nice creel Tony.....interesting.......I would have guessed wrong had I been asked about your ice season! i would have went all in on "March" at some point as cold as it gets some years.....
