Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is Jessica's new PBR redear, 1/2 pound on the scale at the lake. Caught 7:30 AM at Lake Murray, in San Diego. The fishing just shut off like a faucet about 8:30 (notice the cloudless blue sky behind her; there are some *way* expensive houses on that hill, too).

The fish are cleaned and in the fridge, just waiting for Thuy to get home and fry 'em up :)

Ken, water temps in San Diego are still in the seventies at most lakes. Dixon and Jennings have both delayed their trout openers to high temps. At Dixon, it was a whopping 76 a few days ago!

Also visible in the picture is a small fly reel. A while back, I got a Redington Classic Trout 2-wt on clearance for a great price at Fishwest. I finally got to use it today, and took two BG, so it has now been blooded. I haven't fly fished in so long that my casting is garbage, though. Gotta start practicing again.
