Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Having hit a slump lately, I wanted a change up. Stumbling over Tootys post where he shows his two go-to bugs, I gave the purple one a whirl.
This fish grabbed it.
Is one fish a definitive result? I dunno.
But I'll be tying up some more.

Pellet flies, Allen? - haha! Maybe one day.
What a cool idea.

Thanks for the encouragement, Don. I think of each day as a learning event at the pond.
Today, among other things, I learned I should be wearing long pants at dusk. The skeeters are appearing.

Water is still a bit cold, keep at em and one day soon they will grab anything you throw at them.....The end of April always seems to be a good turning point. And then there's the first full moon in May....

WELL THE WATER HERE IS SO COLD YOU COULD HAVE BEEN CHUMMNG WITH ANYTHING AND IT WOULDN'T WORK, JUST WAIT TILL THIS SPRING BUDDY. MAKE SOME OLIVE AND YELLOW ALSO AND YOUR LUCK WILL CHANGE FOR SURE......
