Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A craigcat, from my uncle... and it will probably be the death of me! He says it will go 50 mph... I'm just looking for a good trolling motor, because that's MY speed,

I just noticed the damn thing has WINGS on it! Take it slow Mike...

But at least you can get to the next fishing spot fast.

As for renting it, thats a great idea. You will want to make you fishing setups removable, though.

It'll need to be clean-decked for casual rental use. It also takes a big maintenance budget to keep up with hard run rental equipment.

I'm hoping so! Man cannot live by fish alone... beach bunnies can help balance the menu! I may make an arrangement with the local beach rental guy... these things rent for $1 a minute, and he has one that spends all day on the water... I hate the thought of not being able to fish 7 days a week... but I don't mind the thought of being paid not to fish [FROM THE BOAT!] for 3 days a week... I'm SURE he's paying Vegas rates on insurance... but 50 cents a minute X 8hrs X 3 days = $720... and he can pay insurance from his end, if I deliver it RUNNING HOT across the bay every day he has an OVERFLOW rental!

Total pipe dream here... still scraping up $ for a quart of 2 cycle oil and 5.5 gal of premium... I have to try and break the beast, before I can ride it... TRUTH on that... I'm going to hit some waves at full speed... and just see what happens... BOOYAH!

Just realized I put exclamation points on every single sentence... sorry about that, I'm not trying to yell... I'm just very happy... this is a wonderful adventure.

Not trying to sponsor a site, and I haven't taken it out on the water yet... but there are some videos online if you Google "Craigcat"... I'll put it through some SERIOUS shakedown runs before I ever load the first bit of tackle on it! I've seen a short clip of a boat like this leaving the beach in 5ft waves... and it made it! My moms house is right on Pensacola bay, and the neighborhood lake where I catch the big coppernose and bass does NOT allow gas motors... so I'll be tearing out across P'cola bay on my shakedown run! The opening to the bay is about a mile away, tops, and the ocean waves can stack up... pray for my soul, because that is flounder HEAVEN! I'll try not to hit it at 50 mph... That might get UGLY! But be assured: I'll tangle with some surf, and hit a dozen beaches, before I load the first bit of tackle onto this scary little water rocket! I've never been a speed demon... Never ridden a dirt bike... never souped up a car... I'm looking at this thing as a flat platform to fish from! It's a good stable base: I could throw a cast net and catch bait from it! If I can afford the license to sell bait... that's a JOB!!! I'm scraping my change together for a quart of 2 cycle oil and 5.5 gallons of gas for the first run... I wouldn't mind spending money on this thing, but at the very LEAST, it's going to have to feed my family first! I am a fisherman... and this is my boat. It is a tool, which I must use intelligently, and it must pay for itself! Pretty sure I can manage that... BIG GRIN!!!!

That is the best kind of fishing boat to get - FREE. Now you can buy all sorts of stuff for it, guilt free.

It's gonna present a few challenges as a fishing boat, from the looks of it, but it looks very stable.... well, at slow speed, drifting etc. Get that thing out on a choppy day, big lake style. and it's gonna be a ride and a half!

Congrats, Mike
