Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The fish in the last three pics came from three different rivers on or around the Full Moon last month......Might just put the names in a hat and draw one out......

I hear you Leo.....The larger fish are always safe unless gut hooked.......I truly have favorite spots like all anglers....just shifting around over the years has provided amazing results that are hard to argue with........

Ken I caught my personal best Crappie during the bicentennial year of 1976.....something I always remember is my Grandpa Foster Abney caught two Crappie on the same morning over four pounds in the same location in 1971...some of the Louisiana locals might know this location as Stock Island......I would jump for joy as a kid whenever we headed up there to fish with cane poles from the bank........

You know Jeff, I think you need to have a specialize hat to put a bunch of balls in, marking which water to visit each week. This is the only fair game for the fishes. Of course, if the same water gets selected twice, well, they better learn to hide a bit more effectively.

Thanks Mike.......Ken I was blessed to be stationed in coastal South Carolina back in the early 80s when I joined the Submarine Force and I was introduced to the great Bluegill fishing in South Carolina......Back in 1984 I caught an amazing mess of Coppernose Gills on a Spring afternoon including my personal best at 2 pounds and 4 ounces close to a region called Pinopolis..........And as for Crappie.....I caught a 3 pound 13 ounce "SACALAIT" which is a hybrid Black/White Crappie mix on a Pearl River, Louisiana canal system.......

I'm having a hard time deciding also on a lake for tomorrow's outing.I have a different problem finding good sized fish in the Last two outings. Boat traffic up here will also be a problem.

Nice fish by the way
