Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Caught 30 fish over 11" and 9 fish over 12" with a total of 63 fish caught in a few hours. 3 fish hitting 2lbs even and one 2.1 and my buddy landed a 2.2lber. Great day of fishing once we located the school. All released and none harmed. Found a schooling the water hit 64 degrees and fish were holding from 15-33 feet deep and all caught on green 1/64th oz custom jigs of mine. Fished 2 jigs tied on with loop knots 8 inches from each other. The jigs maybe hit the ground at 33 feet deep twice

I assume this is Skinner? That's just crazy!

You folks in the southwest are just flat out blessed to have world class bluegill fishing so close to you! Congrats on a great day!

Yeah, so cal is so warm till maybe January. Once the temps get into the 50's the fish will move out to 40+ feet deep. Deepest gills were 74 feet deep. They don't make it alive so I don't fish the deeper spots anymore cause there's not much fun watching the fish float to the surface.

An awesome day on the water.........I might have on or two spots over a 100 miles of water that is 33 feet deep....same species I fish but much different methods........cool stuff Chris......hard to fathom 64 degree water this late in the year........good report!
