Thanks Tim.....you may have noticed the height on this fish which caught my eye.........I knew it was a pound class fish when I landed it........had a bass tourney weigh in going on at the ramp so I brought this fish over and it was just short of a pound @ 15.7 ounces and 10.2 inches long........Decided quickly to release it so off it went........interestingly enough Jim Gronaw came down a few years back and caught his citation Flier just 50 yards from where I caught this fish..........

I think they would do great in California Jeff and may in fact challenge the world record........they do struggle with other sunfish for territory but they are doing well here........

These fish are just the coolest! Body and fins really resemble a crappie. I think we need these here in California!
