Those fish came from our other ponds. There are some male native BG, and Redear in the HBG pond....no female BG though.

Are those fish in your catfish pond, as I think you keep them away from your HBG correct?

If you worry about the strong gamey taste, try a bit of a beer batter, mixed with peppercorns and a bit paprika. If you like, coarse granulated garlic powder and onion powder, and at the very end, serve with fresh chopped cilantro and thinly sliced green onion for the extra herb flavor. That will send your taste bud into the next level. As Alan for confirmation, since Tony's probably ate it all, and won't share his portions of delicacy..LOL

I may have to try this next time I get one, does it matter how far along the eggs are as far as taste and edibility?

Also I heard crappie eggs are supposed to be good as well.
