Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Just a reminder, don't forget to tie a few Mini-Buggers before the water warms up. These were tied with a few wraps of .015 lead instead of a bead or bead-chain eyes. 3X size 10.

Thanks all, for the kind words. The Woolly-Bugger is one of the best flies ever tied. If you had nothing in your fly box but Buggers, I believe you could still catch fish anywhere you went.......I understand the man that came up with the Bugger just recently passed away. I doubt he ever could have imagined how successful this fly would become...................Don

Never forget them. Always have something similar in the arsenal. Love the Dangling Brothers display.

These are good year-round. Tied on a size 10 or 12 ( 2x or 3x ) hook they just work. These are just a smaller version of the woolly-Bugger. I fish these on 0-3 wt fly-rods, favorite colors are...Black, Olive, white/Red

and Yellow. ( Chartreuse works well too ) You should always have a few of these with you, I have caught a bunch of nice Trout on them too............Palmering takes a bit of practice but I found it is much easier if you use small Hackle   ( meant of size 14 and smaller Hackle works great on a size 10 Mini-Bugger)...and be extra careful when you tie the Hackle off that you don't capture too many Hackle fibers up near the nose of the fly....Give them a try...and Good Luck............Don

Nice Don. Are these a good spring time bait I haven't done much with sinking baits. They defiantly look like fish catching flies to me. I just got some feathers so I'll have to attempt a couple except all my palmering look like crap.
