That’s good John….back in the 80s I would employ a 1/32 ounce jig with an entire night crawler threaded on in an attempt to entice the two pound plus Shellcracker in the Santee Cooper lakes……..caught a lot of great stringers on the bottom tight lined instead of under a float……

1/2" Crawler chunks on 32nd oz. Jigs have been gettin' Gills consistently past two days up here in Jersey.

This is also a great option with live grass shrimp threaded on the jig or a pinched crawler/red wigglers….
