A Sack Of Spawning Swamp Crackers Today........
Found a colony of chunky shellcrackers near bottom on a creek point.....caught 26 between 9 and 11 inches.....released all but one that was foul hooked on a big jig..........

Thanks Dick,,,,,,,notice the leading edge of the ear flap is orange as it was on more than 95% of yesterday's 26 Shellcrackers.......most big chunky hens full of eggs like this one........one thing I do when I locate spawning redears is to put one or two males (Red Ear Flap Edge) in a large fish basket in the area I'm fishing and let them make the audible clicking sounds to attract the hens in the area.....this has worked well in the past for me......

Way to go on the releasing all those fish! They really are very good eating, but I'm the same way. I enjoy catching these fish so much, that I have a hard time killing them. Getting to be an old softy at heart.
