Do you love big bluegill?
As fast as they come shallow in our region they will do their work and pull back....in most rivers and creeks this will occur by the end of April.........These fish are very fun and exciting to land on telescopic gear......

Thanks Carl.....Coppernose are still my favorite but what's not to like about busting slab crappie on the long poles........It's a species that can be caught every month of the year so I'm always prepared to take advantage should the need arise........what chaos to drag fish like this out of a foot of water where they are during the month of April in Coastal North Carolina.......
no wonder your smiling Jeffery!! a pair like that is bound to make any body smile!!
Thanks Jim.....you're right, been catching some beautiful full bodied Black Crappie this Spring...they do get busted up once they push in shallow to heavy cover...It has been an amazing start Leo....best Spring Crappie bite since 2008 when I caught 2,000 in March and April that year.....I've caught a little over 1,200 since March the 1st this season and still have a few more trips planned before things wind down later this month.....Thanks Kent and Mike!
Nice Crappie!!!
Keep those drooling photos coming. Another year to break the Abney's records yet again.
Great fish...wish we had that pic for the article! Good job!
Thanks Sean and Adam......if the Spring Crappie bite is any indication......2014 will be special......
