Tobias, I catch redbreasts in the Middle Oconee River near Jefferson GA which is considered north GA, but I am south of your area.

Not to be a trouble maker but Tobias that sure looks like a red Breasted Sunfish, as Longear pics I've seen show fancier ,more colorful patterns .You may want to rethink if Red Breasted Sunfish haven't been introduced into this particular water .

Every time I see one of these I can't get over how long the ears are, we don't have them in our area. Neat fish
