It's always sad to loose an extension of your body and I can feel your pain buddy. I have lost numerous rods when I go to cast and on my forward motion everything is gone. My factory life and carpel tunnel has lost me rods and reels to many time to remember. Some I have been shallow enough I could retrieve them and some well not so lucky. Sorry for your loss it's hard to part with a special piece of equipment but we go on the fishing desire is always strongest..
