Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A 1/80 #10 hook jig I tied up just fooling around. After I tied it, I wondered if it might not have been better to have left the rubber legs off. What do you guys think?

Legs add appeal, IMO...

I'll take a dozen!

Great looking jig. A mixture of everything that will entice the fishes. Looks a lot like the squirters that trout chase after in my areas. The legs cause more ripples in the water. So, like everyone else said, leave them on. Cause more chaos in the water, you'll get more bites.

I'd say leave the legs in, and let the fish give it their stamp (bite?) or approval!

In fact, I think you've given me an idea!

I like the legs, and I'm well convinced the bluegill do, too.
Have you tried them up around the head?

NICE LOOKING BUG AND I WOULDN'T LEAVE THE LEGS OFF FOR ANY REASON !!!!!! I basically cut my teeth on this pattern bout 30+ years ago and never changed it , cept for some tail tweaking over all that time. It's a proven pattern concept buddy .......

Nice looking jig.....I personally like the "leggy" additions and feel it sometimes makes the difference...... in some cases especially with the smaller baits it helps to present the "slow fall" approach that can enhance your presentation....Nice jig!
