Jim, this place yield tons of 8-9" bluegill all the time

Hey Federico...8 to 10 inch bluegills are not at all bad by any stretch of the imagination. When I see any water that can consistantly yield 9 inch class fish, I keep it on my 'must fish' list and check it from time to time...it could produce a trophy 11 incher.

thanks guys I still want to make a trip North to catch some really big saucer shape BG, we have some really nice redear ,red breast and rio cichlid waters here but as far as BG the biggest I've sen in the wild are in the 8-10" range maybe late summer or early fall

Agree 100%

The body dynamics lend more to a red ear as well. Great fish, BTW!

Comment by federico del toro on June 23, 2012 at 4:25pm

Jim I agree, everybody said blue gill but I also think has some red ear in it , the ear was completly black and the belly was a lot more orange than it appears but I think BG/RE hybrid

Comment by Jim Gronaw on June 23, 2012 at 4:02pm

Hey guys...this is a great fish! But I don't think it is a bluegill. Red ear. gillcracker, redbreast hybrid or something?

Any thoughts???
