Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

One of the prettiest fish I've caught in years...Not very big but awesome coming out of brackish/tanic water......These aggressive fish can be caught by the hundreds in the Louisiana back waters......I've had a blast this week........

Thanks Tooty....these spotted sunfish are generally the smallest of the sunfish family but very aggressive and fun to catch on micro baits.......

The meat from these guys is fantastic...I find them thicker than a standard gill...more in line with a Warmouth for the members that can relate.......

Holy smoke. There must be a specialized discussion for these beauty. Send some my way. I want to breed them in my aquarium! Better yet, send them to Bruce! He'll make them titanic sizes! Aggressive, huge, and a major game. How's the meat taste?!

I appreciate all the interest in these fish and can't wait to discuss it....With only a week in town and so many family members, good food and great fishing I haven't been on the site much this week.....I will be back soon!
