Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

First time out since the second week of September. On Thursday caught 12 Bluegill's, 8 shiners, 1 crappie and 1 bass. Between the hours of 2-4pm it was windy and cold. This guy hit a #12 gold bean head green weenie. 8 inches long

I found the instructions - googled.

REAL easy fly to tie. Normally thought of as a trout lure.

This one I didn't tie. It look's like a #10 or #12 dry fly hook really......black thread, green chenille and a small gold bean.

When the water get's cooler that's when they start biting, No Rick I never try eating them before I honestly don't eat no fresh water fish besides trout sometimes when they are stocked in our lakes here

Looks like the painting I posted last week. I think they are under rated as a sports fish. Have you tried eating them?

Nice shiner I haven't caught one of them in years.
