Nice Bruce….that would make me happy….I love river fishing…..with almost 11 million people in North Carolina, the lakes are heavily fished and in many cases very often dangerous……one man’s opinion…rivers have their own hazards but our boat traffic is much less……

Nice smallie Bruce….pretty lake you’re on…..the gills are toughest to figure out when real deep water is available, greater than twenty feet……in my opinion….I personally prefer rivers over lakes but you have to fish what’s available…..

Thanks Bruce…we observed all the activity around us…weren’t surprised when all the bass were hitting the jigs/live cricket combination…..

Nice fish. I've done a lot of smallmouth bass fishing this year with a fly rod. It's a blast. I think I've learned you've got to get to the pan fish during the spawn because they move to deeper water after it's over.
