Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Caught everything that hit today just zero panfish strikes shallow….I don’t like to fish deep this time of year…so I’m waiting on a few warm days to break things loose…

Thanks John…….we’re getting so excited and eager here….we’ve had some warm days but immediately near freezing the next few days…..we should break loose any day now……we have a washout tomorrow with high winds and rain…..

Nice bass John…..we’re getting very excited locally because we saw a big warm up this week…..I’ve had ten people contact me to go fishing……typically the male bass bucks show up first here, closely followed by big females and male crappie…days later the big sow crappie are also moving shallow and things get very fun for shallow anglers……I’m going to try tomorrow afternoon and I expect to have surface temperatures above 56 which will be exciting…..hope things get started soon for you John….

Jeffrey-One of the first lures I catch Bass on after ice clears is a old reaper style Bait on a small Jighead. You can see it in this Bass' mouth although this was a mid April Fish .Fishing from shore though. Reaper Leech Bass23

Very active Dick…..

John I was searching for shallow panfish icebreakers with a soft plastic jig under a float……..these bass were actively chasing shad in 52 degree water…..it was fun but I’m really excited about another panfish season…..

Thanks Mikey, you’re always happy to have activity when you fish……the big girls should be in there soon…..getting excited
