Do you love big bluegill?
30 of this morning's 38 crappie were 12" class up to 13"......a really rewarding trip in adverse weather........rain........sleet......winds gusting in the 30s......but I have done the best over the years on winter crappie just before the cold front.........

Thanks Joe......should be a little warmer by the time we go again..........
Thanks Dick.......nice to catch a few after a demanding work week.......we may have the coldest weather of the season next weekend along with some of the white stuff........see what happens with that............the creek I fished yesterday is filling up with prespawn crappie........should be able to target them and follow them in when they go shallow........
Quality crappies Jeffrey.
Thanks Mark.......wasn't great early and progressively got worse........I had the 20 fish limit at 9:30 and played around for another hour before the gusts exceeded 30 and the rain set in............I push hard to go when I only have one day off in the winter.....days are still too short to fish after work so I push it sometimes.......the fish will often bite in tough weather but it's not always possible to get to them...........
sounds like a great haul! you need a reward for braving this weather!!
Plenty places hold larger fish but we have an abundance of 12 to 15 inch class crappie in most of our Albemarle creeks and rivers.........satisfies my itch.......
thats awsome size for crappie; at least in my area !!
