Let me tell you all.....
I had 2 different prototypes (one with Krystal Flash, one without), plus 3 "rejects" from the production run. I took them to my home lake on Monday, as I wanted to test them before sending out this batch. Pink and White is a hot color combo there. I was expecting to catch some fish. Sure enough, within minutes, I had my first fish in hand. Several more followed in minutes, with one missed strike. The missed strike was a really good hit; it felt like the fish tried to grab the bait several times, or was shaking its head in the split-second that the fish had the jig. The fish that I caught seemed to give it a little more than the usual little "tap". Hopefully, I'll get a little more empirical testing tomorrow :)
deadly looking jigs here allen!!
Thank you Dick.
Neat jigs Allen pink is in no doubt.
I've been using pink-and-white on tube jigs, and my early Crappie jigs, for several years. Pink seems to be one of the "hot" colors at my home lake. I think that's because the bait shop right there stocks the Rosy Red minnows, even though they are more of a "peach" color.
LOL Andy. I was thinking about Blue and White yesterday or the day before; I know that color would work good for Crappies in the river. I've got to get some Blue marabou. Luckily, tax time is coming up; that will be time to stock the larder.
I like the name! I was thinking about calling them a "Spider Jig", as an homeage to British North Country Spiders, which these are distantly related to. But, the "Pink Mantis" sounds even better!
