Do you love big bluegill?
Fished this micro under a quill at four to eight feet......some fish would catch it on the fall and others reacted to movement up the slope......

Hot bait right now....
Nice!
They produce takes.......a #10 wire hook is under sized for my preference and have been straightened on several occasions even by some of the largest gills.......I employ them under a float up to depths of six feet....I often remove the accompanying soft plastic and add a live cricket or grass shrimp for best results in the cold......
A couple seasons ago I did real well with the Bro Bug through the ice at some Mason Dixon lakes...had to tip with either a waxie or maggot to get bites, though.
Yeah these guys will appear dead on cold mornings/days.......I give them a ride in the cab to warm them up before hitting the water.......try to get a little action from them when tipping......
I remember those crickets barely moving in the morning cold last October when it was 30 degrees in the mornings we were fishing!
Great bait!
No problem Dick... I have a few local bait stores that keep crickets available year round Ken.......about $3.25 for a 100 around here ......might have used 40 this afternoon.....the soft cold water bites allow you to sometimes fish the same cricket twice....this bug is from the Northland series.......
how do you get your crickets Jeff.
Poor cricket. Thanks Jeffrey for showing how you rigged it I have never used crickets before.
