Thanks Leo.....The estuary is monitored closely by the staff of East Carolina University and most of the reports I have read report good quality of water which always makes me happy.....

Look at those beauties. The dark red color of the gill tells a great story of good water quality in your neck of the woods.

Absolutely Jason.....we always found them fly fishing friendly back in the rice fields of southeastern Louisiana....You could go up and down the canals with a popping bug and the Goggle-Eyed Perch would keep you company all day....Really good memories from back in the day!

I've always heard that they're super aggressive when feeding, often hitting bass lures and such....

Thanks Guys......it is not uncommon to catch multiple sunfish species in the areas I fish.......I often catch redear, fliers, warmouth, pumpkinseed and coppernose all in the same area, even during the spawn when it appears that they sneak their eggs into the other specie's nests.....Warmouth are unique in their relentless pursuit of a particular bait and are pretty tasty in fine yellow cornmeal and peanut oil.....
