Ronnie thank you for the info I'm just getting into the fly tying aspect but it's fun.

HEY RONNIE : GGGGGGGGGGGGGGREAT LOOKING POPPER AND GREAT COLOR TOO! I never have tried to tie a popper myself as it looks frustrating if the body would start to turn on the hook. Nice one you have and very well done! CCCCCCCCCCCCCONGRATS:

Dick, I found some cork that is 1/4'' round X 3/4 long. I cut it down to 1/2'' long then I use a dermal tool to shape the front dish. Cut a slot for the hook, lay down a thread base on the hook and glue on the cork. I use a white to prime the cork and then use nail polish to paint. Takes 4 or 5 coats and then I glue on the eyes (3D). Use clear Sally Henson to top coat going over the eyes also, 4 or 5 coats of clear.

Thanks guys.

Jim it's like riding a bike, well maybe easyer since I wouldn't want to get on a bike.

This is the popper that worked today. I only made a couple in this color but will get some more made for the box.

One thing for sure your in the right place but I recall you saying you done it when you was younger so what you probably need is a good refresher coarse, I have confidence in you Jim.
