Thanks Tony ,going out 1-5 pm today .Its bright today might try that Hildebrandt spoon again as well as the beaded nymph ,and micro jig. I hear you on those straight lines .Patrick Olsen turned me onto . I have a Frabill he suggested .
Nice job, John.....
Also 3rd time out ,Beaded Nymph/tipped with mealies above an 1/8th oz. pounding weight ( 13" Bass, a Gill and a Pseed) and micro jig tipped with waxies on a straight line combo(10 Gills)
Since this outing, effective lures have been, a small Hildebrant flutter spoon / Trout nibble ;a Yellow and a White Perch .....Beaded nymph/mealworm tied into a dropper 16th oz bell sinker, "pounder weight" ;a bass ,a Pseed, a Gill; Small Purple micro jig / Waxie; 10 Gills.
Arrghh Dick, the weather is not looking good for Ice fishing .Warm and rainy yesterday and warm for the next week or more . What a tease to go out on the ice only once and then have to wish I was ice fishing .
Can't wait to see these colorful things in action.
Looks like Mr. John is really to enter into the elements. Good luck to ya.
Yes that WAS cool! Tiger fish .Cant imagine what eats them Carl. Perhaps they're the Apex predator in those waters .Very happy with the tandem rig carrying over to the ice period .It attracts attention for sure even if you only get one fish . Thursday ,I got fish on both top and bottom lures but not two at once .(A goal to do through the ice) However , why not give em a choice ! I am a big time fan of tying combos of different tandems and trying them out .Made up a few today in fact . Perch like em and I suspect when the fish are schooling or bunched up it's a great technique whatever the species !
just saw that video of a fish grabbing a bird in mid-air!! that's totally insane!! thanks for posting that one!
those are some good looking jigs!
