I haven't taken these particular ties out and fished them. Probably won't until next year. I did a version in medium brown over light green, which matches the naturals, a few weeks ago. They have a nice "plop" when they land. This version has two layers of 2mm craft foam, where the GFA Hoppers that I've tied in the past few years only had one layers. As a result, the Pink Pookies have just a wee bit more mass, which results in a Plop when they splashdown, much like the naturals, but since it's all foam, they still float.
These things are rather big, a little over an inch long. Probably too big for most 'gills, but Bass and Trout should go for them. I still tie the GFA Hopper pattern on a 200R size 14 hook, which is perfect for sunnies.
Masterful ties Allen. Manage to take those beauties out to the waters?
Great looking ties Allen. I think they will get the fishes attention.
