Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Had no scale with me but measured up against a fishing rod and marked it... i chose to release the fish instead off killing it for the Master Angler patch to fight another day.

David... i am surrounded by some great bodies of water with some very nice dnr access launches. The bridge you see in the back ground in alot of my pics is a 5 minute walk from my house. It funnels a portion of the resevoir under the bridge. This spot has current deep holes, weed edges and an adjacent shallow bay suitable for spawning and very little fishing pressure.i feel pretty lucky.

Thanks guys... i thought i had hooked a smallmouth at first... was really surprised when i saw the size of this thing when i pulled this thing out of the water. I was twitching a wacky worm up a gravel drop off next to the bridge embankment. I catch alot of rockbass this way.

I dont know anything about rock bass, but it looks like a dandy. If these guys like it, it must be a specimen!
