Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Yellow perch spawn pretty soon in the Mid-Atlantic and I might try these for early spring crappie.

Carl...the legs are from spinnerbait skirts from BooYah...all kinds of color combos and you get a lot of mileage out of one skirt.

Hey Rex,,,thanks for the compliment! The body is Chartreuse pearl core braid by Hareline Dubbin, Inc.

After I wrap and tie it off at the head, I take a permanent Sharpie marker and just 'brush' the chiseled tip accross the tops of the braid wrappings to get the 'striped' image you see.

Then, I coat the body with a coat of Crazy Glue from a brush applicator. The Crazy Glue both seals and highlights the 'barring' on the sides of the jig to enhance the yellow perch/firetiger effect. Try it!
