OH MAN EARL that old bait shop would be welcome today to lots of us Geezers cause or the memories it brings back . Thanks for the post buddy . I agree 100% on the state of affairs on modern shops. Now if you had bass heads or any other kind of head on a board THEY'D CALL THE SWAT TEAM and have you checked out !!!!!!!!!!!

I had a walnut tree right next to my driveway at one time and my old buddy phil and I would put every bass head of fish over 3 lb's on it for display or conversation piece. This was back when I was a young man and just married. Wife wouldn't go for it much now and I don't fish much for bass anymore either.....

I think one aspect of Geezerness is my dislike of 'bait shops' today. The ones today are more like some kinda electronic weirdo gadget outlet.

We had one in the small town I grew up in that wouldn't be tolerated in this sissy world today. The old man that owned it was straight out of Hee Haw casting. Bib Overalls, big wad of Red Man chew, cussed like a sailor.

The store set at the end of a street at the edge of town and looked like a 'ol squatters shack. On the outside was a wood fence with a couple 4'X8' plywood sheets that were always covered in fish heads nailed to them. The Bass had beer can stuffed in their mouths.

Inside was a wood stove and lots of chairs for the local liars club. Bait of all kinds, Rods, Reels, Hooks, Line, Lures, a Coke cooler and all the free advice you can imagine.

     I really miss that place.

Tooty better keep your money and just say it works cause it really does.

Dave it works. Some of them good old boys drive a stake in the ground and drag a stone acrossed the top of the stake, it drives the worms crazy and out they come. They don't like the vibrations.
