When in Vermont or Maryland I also go for smallmouth bass, northern pike ,etc. Florida, Reds. I am very careful wading and always use a wading staff. 99% of my fishing is fly fishing, in fact, I will be getting a Tenkara this coming Monday. I'll post results. (if any :) )
