I'm with Leo on being frugal. Fishing is one of those activities that even with a million dollars worth of gear, you cannot guarantee success. Most of us have been out fished at some point by the guy with a cane pole and a hook. Fishing is like golf in that regard - You can't buy your way into being a good fisherman.

In the end, fishing equipment only needs to do a few things. The fact one can do well with very little proves this. Most of fishing success is not out at the hook end of the line. It is between the ears of the angler. Old Geezers know this.

YUP YOU ARE RIGHT DICK and the group has already far exceeded my wildest dreams !!! You are also right about the talent  in this group , UNREEL TALENT FROM gill catchers , to great talent of fly tiers and the like! I"m thrilled and can't wait to see all the contributions to the group they all make....... We have here a WHO'S WHO OF TIERS , GILL GURU'S , CRAPPIE HARVESTERS , AND ALL THE REST . I'M REALLY HAPPY BUDDY!

Well Tooty I really thought I had everybody buffaloed as to my age this crowd is much wiser than I thought HA HA. There is much wisdom here and a greater group of people I don't think we can find anywhere.

OH MASTER JEN YOU ARE JUST A KID ! but we love ya and your bugs and wonderful to say the least and proud to have ya in the group!!!!!!!!! Was thinking again about all the Geezers and Geezerette's getting together some were and guess what ? Yup you guessed it SIR JEFFREY ABNEYS' PLACE ( camp out in the backyard) !!!! His wifes nickname is LITL Abney AND I'M SURE SHE'D LOVE TO SEE US all first thing when she wakes up in the morning ! Ya know just milling around , scratching whatever itches, caughing , laughing , saying to each other WHATDAYA SAY!  YA KNOW  we are all pretty much deaf and have special dietary needs! Wouldn't that be fun!!!!!!!!!................
