Just received a phone call from my wife while her friend was in tears about the husband's phone being stolen, hijacked, and continued to be hacked using the hijacked phone through his synched computer.
Lesson to learn:
1. If you have a smart mobile device, in which most of us do, please, please, please put a password, pin, bio-signature, and/or pattern protection on it.
2. If you use your smart mobile device(s) to synch with your computers, do yourself a favor and enable double protection on it, such as Two-Steps Verification, log-in tracking, and DO NOT save passwords that are sensitive to your bank accounts.
3. If use online banking, enable all type of protection on your accounts, such as any spending greater than $1 to notify you by texting. This is your ultimate protection against fraudulent charges. It's a pain if you spend quite a bit as notifications come to you in waves, but it's better to be annoyed than to miss a chunk of your hard earned cash.
