Looking for info.

Would like some info on kayaks. I told myself never happen because your setting so low. Now I see they have done wonders with the seats so my interest is back somewhat. I would love to check into them as far as comfort which ones I should be looking at and maybe a propulsion system foot or small electric. Again Just looking for now with a couple back surgeries I want to look long and hard. Strictly for fishing.

ken if you put your yak on its side and slide it between the seats it fits in, like a glove ,I do that with my chevy venture van.

That is one wide open deck plan, Ken!

I was looking at the larger version of the Ascend, the 12 foot model.

Please keep sharing your impressions of your yak!

2" of water!  Wow.  I draft about 6 in my boat.

Anyone ever look at the Kevlar canoes?  Talk about lightweight.......

Ken S. , nice looking rig ya got there. Wished I was able to fish outta one of those cause I wouldn't even need a trailer , like I do with my canoe.....

JUST CHECKED OUT THIS GROUP AND SEE IT'S FOR CANOES TOO !!!!!! LIKE DAVID and a few others I have back issues , lower and upper by my neck. Almost baught a NU CANOE a month or so ago and decided that the canoe was more suited for me . My first boat was a canoe , Coleman Scanoe .  Compared to my buddies old 17' Grumman it was a tub to paddle.
Fished outta his Grumman for years for Bass and then got my first canoe. Since then have owned several and what I like most about em , Like Allen , is how shallow you can get. This one only draws about 2" of water with me in it and can't wait to give it the big test maybe tomorrow .......

That's one of the things I love about my yak.  The ability to sneak up on fish, and how shallow I can get.

took the yak out on ross lake. was in the water in a matter of minutes with very little effert. caught two smallies and lost a third on a nice jump. was able to sneak up on shallow cover alot more effectively. very pleased.

Great!
Of course, they're designed for young people WITHOUT back pRoblems. LOL
But they make cushions and supports to make the seating more
agreeable. One thing I found that helped was to stop trying for
marathon cockpit sessions. Taking a break every few hours
makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

Besides, I have to pee that often, anyways.

took it on the grass for a bit and tested the lower lumbar and it felt comfortable and in position... cushion was a little thin.

Daaaaang, Ken. Fits like it was made for it!
Get you a bungee/strap for the hatch and you're golden.
Back her down and slide it in the water.
You are gonna love it.
